Copper Cape: History, Rarity and How to Get It (2026 Guide)

The Copper Cape is an official Minecraft cape for Java and Bedrock (origin: Released October 2025). This guide covers where it came from, how rare it is, what it looks like on a real skin and exactly how to get the Copper Cape today.

Where the Copper Cape comes from

The Copper Cape arrived in October 2025 with a weathered-copper look that shifts from warm orange to oxidised green, a nod to copper blocks ageing in the game.

It is one of the most affordable official capes and a favourite with builders.

What the Copper Cape looks like

Weathered copper that shifts from warm orange at the top to oxidised green at the bottom, just like copper blocks ageing in the game. The colours are fixed; the design shows the ageing effect.

You can spin the 3D model at the top of this page, switch between walking and elytra flight, and type your own Minecraft username to see the Copper Cape on your skin before you buy.

Looks best with: Builder skins, miners, and earthy brown or green outfits.

How rare is the Copper Cape?

It had a wide release, which keeps codes easier to source and the price low. It sits in our Iron tier.

Rarity on GetCape is shown with six tiers: Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite and Dragon, from most common to rarest. Prices follow supply: when unused codes for a cape run low, they cost more to source.
