Home Cape: History, Rarity and How to Get It (2026 Guide)

The Home Cape is an official Minecraft cape for Java and Bedrock (origin: Twitch promotion for A Minecraft Movie, March–April 2025). This guide covers where it came from, how rare it is, what it looks like on a real skin and exactly how to get the Home Cape today.

Where the Home Cape comes from

The Home Cape was released for A Minecraft Movie in 2025. From March 18 to April 6, 2025, watching a Minecraft livestream on Twitch for three minutes earned a code.

It is one of the most affordable official capes and a great first cape: clean, recognisable, and it pairs well with almost any skin.

What the Home Cape looks like

A clean, recognisable design from the A Minecraft Movie promotion. It is calm rather than loud, so it pairs with almost any skin.

You can spin the 3D model at the top of this page, switch between walking and elytra flight, and type your own Minecraft username to see the Home Cape on your skin before you buy.

Looks best with: Almost everything. It is a safe pick for default-style and casual skins.

How rare is the Home Cape?

The Twitch promotion only needed three minutes of watch time, so plenty of players earned it. That makes it one of the most affordable official capes and puts it in our Stone tier.

Rarity on GetCape is shown with six tiers: Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite and Dragon, from most common to rarest. Prices follow supply: when unused codes for a cape run low, they cost more to source.

How to get the Home Cape in 2026

The original promotion has ended, so you cannot earn the Home Cape from Mojang any more. The only way to add it to your account now is an unused official code. Every code we sell is checked before it is listed and is delivered instantly after payment, with a replace-or-refund guarantee.

Is the Home Cape worth it?

It is a great pick for anyone who wants their first official cape on a small budget, or a tasteful everyday cape. Capes are purely cosmetic, so you are paying for style and rarity, not an in-game advantage, and once redeemed it is yours forever.
