Menace Cape: History, Rarity and How to Get It (2026 Guide)

The Menace Cape is an official Minecraft cape for Java and Bedrock (origin: A Minecraft Movie promotion, 2025). This guide covers where it came from, how rare it is, what it looks like on a real skin and exactly how to get the Menace Cape today.

Where the Menace Cape comes from

The Menace Cape is one of the capes released around A Minecraft Movie in 2025. Its red and purple portal design is easy to spot from behind and looks great with darker skins.

Like the other movie capes it is attached to your Microsoft account once redeemed and shows on Java and Bedrock.

What the Menace Cape looks like

A red and purple portal-style design from the 2025 movie promotions. It is darker and more dramatic than the Home Cape and is easy to spot from behind.

You can spin the 3D model at the top of this page, switch between walking and elytra flight, and type your own Minecraft username to see the Menace Cape on your skin before you buy.

Looks best with: Dark skins, villain or demon themes, and anything with red highlights.

How rare is the Menace Cape?

It came from a wide 2025 promotion, so it is not one of the rarest capes, but it is far less common than the free capes most accounts have. We list it in our Iron tier.

Rarity on GetCape is shown with six tiers: Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite and Dragon, from most common to rarest. Prices follow supply: when unused codes for a cape run low, they cost more to source.

How to get the Menace Cape in 2026

The original promotion has ended, so you cannot earn the Menace Cape from Mojang any more. The only way to add it to your account now is an unused official code. Every code we sell is checked before it is listed and is delivered instantly after payment, with a replace-or-refund guarantee.

It is a great pick for players who want an edgier movie cape at a low price. Capes are purely cosmetic, so you are paying for style and rarity, not an in-game advantage, and once redeemed it is yours forever.
