Purple Heart Cape: History, Rarity and How to Get It (2026 Guide)

The Purple Heart Cape is an official Minecraft cape for Java and Bedrock (origin: Twitch watch-time promotion, May 2024). This guide covers where it came from, how rare it is, what it looks like on a real skin and exactly how to get the Purple Heart Cape today.

Where the Purple Heart Cape comes from

The Purple Heart Cape was a 2024 Twitch promotion. Viewers who watched a Minecraft livestream on Twitch for 15 minutes between May 15 and May 31, 2024 earned a code, and the cape rolled out to Java players on July 1, 2024.

The window was short, so the Purple Heart is much less common than the free capes everyone has. Its bright purple heart pattern stands out in lobbies and on minigame servers.

What the Purple Heart Cape looks like

A bright purple field with a pixel heart pattern. It is one of the most cheerful capes in the game and it reads clearly from a distance, which makes it popular on minigame servers and in screenshots.

You can spin the 3D model at the top of this page, switch between walking and elytra flight, and type your own Minecraft username to see the Purple Heart Cape on your skin before you buy.

Looks best with: Pastel and purple skins, cute or e-girl/e-boy style skins, and anything with pink accents.

How rare is the Purple Heart Cape?

The Twitch window lasted about two weeks in May 2024, so far fewer players own it than the free capes everyone gets. It sits in our Gold tier: noticeably rarer than everyday capes, but still within reach.

Rarity on GetCape is shown with six tiers: Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite and Dragon, from most common to rarest. Prices follow supply: when unused codes for a cape run low, they cost more to source.

Is the Purple Heart Cape worth it?

It is a great pick for players who want a colourful, friendly-looking cape that stands out without costing as much as the event-only capes. Capes are purely cosmetic, so you are paying for style and rarity, not an in-game advantage, and once redeemed it is yours forever.
